Geotechnical Investigation

Geotechnical Investigation

Soil exploration, SPT and laboratory testing from an NABL-accredited laboratory (Certificate No. TC-12444).

Overview

Ground characterisation informs safe, economical foundation and earthworks design. Soil exploration, standard penetration testing and laboratory investigation, carried out through MYTHCON's NABL-accredited testing laboratory (Certificate No. TC-12444), establish the ground conditions a project is actually built on.

Every foundation design starts with knowing the ground. Boreholes, in-situ tests such as the Standard Penetration Test, and laboratory testing describe the soil and rock profile, its strength, compressibility and groundwater. Our laboratory is NABL-accredited (Certificate No. TC-12444).

  • Soil exploration
  • Standard Penetration Test (SPT)
  • Geotechnical laboratory testing

Key Benefits

Safe, economical foundations

Design is based on actual ground conditions.

Fewer surprises

Finding weak layers and water early avoids costly changes during construction.

Accredited laboratory results

Testing from an NABL-accredited laboratory (TC-12444).

Complete package

Drilling, sampling, in-situ testing and laboratory work with one report.

Where It Is Used

  • Buildings, bridges and viaducts
  • Roads, rail and metro alignments
  • Industrial plants and storage tanks
  • Slope and embankment studies

How We Work

  1. 1

    Plan the investigation

Set out borehole locations and depths for the structure and site.

  2. 2

    Drill and sample

Advance boreholes, log the strata and take disturbed and undisturbed samples.

  3. 3

Test in the field and lab

Run SPT and other in-situ tests; test samples for classification, strength and compressibility.

  4. 4

    Report

Present borehole logs, test results and interpreted parameters for design.

What You Receive

  • Borehole logs
  • SPT and in-situ test results
  • Laboratory test certificates
  • Geotechnical report with recommendations

Frequently Asked Questions

How many boreholes are needed?

It depends on the site size, variability and structure type; the plan follows the applicable code and project needs.

What does NABL accreditation mean for my report?

The laboratory has been independently assessed for its testing competence, which adds credibility to the results.

Have an infrastructure testing or monitoring requirement?

Tell us about your project — our engineering team will follow up on scope, instrumentation and approach.
